Why We Love This Place
Akins is a bit more pricey on some things, but they also have things you can't find anywhere else. They have a fantastic selection of good alternatives to cereals, cookies, candies and desserts, along with organic produce. In fact everything in the store is organic! They have phenomenal supplement selection and we love their ear candles, bentonite clay and collagen. We love their Jonny Pops and the Alden Ice Cream, as well as the nontoxic toilet paper seems to be the best value we've found.
Combine Akins with the Wellnest Shop and you have everything you'll need. Akins is more of the grocery store with a little of the home products and the Wellnest Shop covers every home product you'd need.
This store is phenomenal and is crucial to the wellbeing of our area. I cannot thank them enough.
What Could Use ImprovEment
There are a few items you need to be careful of that may have some things snuck in there. I've noticed seed oils in a few products, but even those products are 4 times better than the alternatives at any supermarket. Avoid the fake meat burgers as they have Senomyx in them. I'm slightly disappointed that the rotisserie chickens are hot and sitting in plastic all day, because that is just loading them up with phylates that cause infertility and wreck our hormones. I'd rather them be cold or maybe they could use some of their bamboo products to store them. I'll update this if there's any changes to that.
We love Akins so much and they do so much for us. Even when Whole Foods comes to Rogers, we'll be shopping at Akins.
(Also Whole Foods has a palm payment scanner at their checkouts and won't take cash, so they're pushing the sketchy NWO and ESG score route that we are not in support of.)
Go to Akins! Holluh!
